Dapro L®
Dapagliflozin belongs to a group of medicines called sodium glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors. It works by blocking the SGLT2 protein in the kidney, allowing blood sugar (glucose), salt (sodium), and water to be removed from the body through urine. Dapro L® is used to treat type 2 diabetes in adults and children aged over ten when it cannot be controlled with diet and exercise; it can be used alone or with other diabetes medicines, while continuing to follow medical advice on diet and exercise. It is also used in adults for heart failure with symptoms due to a weak heart pump function, and for chronic kidney disease in adults with reduced kidney function.
