Our story

Founded on a pharmaceutical tradition that began in 1986, LEKLI sh.p.k. was officially established in 1991 by Dr. Luan Lekli with the vision of building a modern pharmaceutical company focused on quality, accessibility, and long-term healthcare impact in Albania, in the Balkan region and European countries.

Over the years, the company evolved from a local pharmaceutical distributor into a GMP-oriented manufacturer with growing regional ambitions. Strategic investments in infrastructure, quality systems, and specialized production technologies allowed LEKLI to significantly expand its production capacities.

One of the company’s most important strategic decisions was entering the field of orphan and cytostatic medicines. This direction was driven by the increasing need for access to complex and often difficult-to-source therapies for patients suffering from rare diseases and oncology conditions in the region. LEKLI identified a significant gap in treatment availability and chose to invest in specialized pharmaceutical development and manufacturing capabilities to help address these unmet medical needs.

Today, LEKLI operates a modern manufacturing facility located in Tirana Industrial Park, developed according to GMP standards and supported by advanced Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems. The company continues to focus on sustainable pharmaceutical development, regional partnerships, and the production of high-value medicines that improve patient access and healthcare outcomes.
